Lens Selection Guide

Not sure which lens fits your system? Here is what our engineers need to know to make the perfect recommendation.

1. What is your Camera Sensor Size?
The lens image circle must be equal to or larger than your camera's sensor size (e.g., 1/2", 2/3", 1", 4/3", Full Frame). Using a lens designed for a smaller sensor will result in vignetting (dark corners).
2. What is the required Field of View (FOV)?
FOV is the actual area (width x height) of the object you need to inspect. This, combined with the working distance, determines the necessary focal length or magnification of the lens.
3. What is your Working Distance (WD)?
This is the physical distance from the front of the lens to the object being inspected. Space constraints in your machine often dictate the allowable working distance.
